Caribbean Cruise Day 1: Miami, Florida

Our adventure began in Miami, Florida, where we boarded the stunning MSC Seashore for what would be a 15-day escape through the Caribbean. Embarkation was impressively smooth and easy, we arrived at Port of Miami, Terminal E, checked in, went through security, and were on board within about 45 to an hour. MSC had everything well organized, and staff were helpful at every step.

Once onboard, we were immediately struck by the ship’s elegance, Swarovski crystal stairs, sleek design, and a grand atrium that sparkled in the afternoon sun. If you’re a first-time cruiser, expect a bit of a wait for your cabin to be ready (usually around 2 p.m.), so pack anything essential (like sunscreen or swimsuits) in your carry-on if you plan to explore or hang by the pool right away.

We were staying in a Deluxe Balcony cabin on Deck 9, and it quickly felt like home. The room was cozy but thoughtfully designed, with ample storage, a compact but well-designed bathroom with everything we needed, and a balcony that offered sweeping views of the ocean as we pulled away from the port.

Our first full day on the MSC Seashore was a sea day, which meant no ports, no rush, just sunshine, ocean views, and plenty of time to explore everything the ship had to offer.

We kicked things off with a leisurely breakfast in the main dining room. The service was great, and the menu offered a wide range of options from eggs benedict to fresh fruit platters. Afterward, we wandered up to the pool area.

We claimed two loungers by the infinity pool at the aft of the ship, which quickly became one of our favorite spots. The panoramic views of the endless ocean were incredible, and with the sea breeze and the gentle rocking of the ship, it felt like the ultimate luxury.

We docked in San Juan, Puerto Rico in the early afternoon, and even though this was one of the shorter port stops on our Caribbean Cruise itinerary, we made the most of every moment. The ship pulls right into the heart of the city, so as soon as we stepped off, we were surrounded by vibrant colors, Spanish colonial buildings, and the buzz of local life.

We headed straight for Old San Juan, which is just a 10-minute walk from the port. The cobblestone streets are lined with pastel-colored buildings, wrought-iron balconies, and charming plazas that make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. We visited Castillo San Cristóbal, one of the city’s iconic forts, well worth the small entry fee for the sweeping ocean views and historical significance.

After the fort, we wandered through the narrow streets, soaking in the colors and textures of the city. We made a quick stop for mofongo (a traditional dish made with mashed plantains and garlic) and couldn’t resist sipping on a fresh piña colada, after all, it was invented here!

• Visit the forts first. They close earlier than some shops and restaurants, and they’re worth seeing.
• Don’t wait to eat dinner off the ship. Because this stop is shorter and many others had the same idea, we found long lines at popular spots and not enough time to enjoy a full meal. If you’re craving local cuisine, make a reservation in advance.

Caribbean Cruise Day 4: Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Our fourth day on our Caribbean cruise brought us to Charlotte Amalie, the capital of the U.S. Virgin Islands, and honestly, it was our favorite stop of the entire Caribbean cruise. From lush mountain views to one of the most beautiful beaches we’ve ever seen, St. Thomas completely won us over.

We booked the “Island Drive, Magens Bay Beach & Shopping” excursion, and it was the perfect mix of sightseeing, relaxing, and a little retail therapy. The scenic drive through the island’s hilly terrain offered unbelievable views of turquoise bays and green hills, with plenty of photo stops along the way.

One of the highlights of the drive was Mountain Top, a famous lookout point perched 1,500 feet above sea level. But the real win was the banana daiquiris. I’m not exaggerating when I say it was the best daiquiri of my life, icy, creamy, tropical perfection. I’m still thinking about it. I even tried to recreate it once I got home, but nothing has come close.

Next, we made our way to Magens Bay, which more than lived up to its reputation, I literally could have stayed on that beach forever. This crescent-shaped beach is nestled in a calm bay, with powdery white sand, gentle waves, and plenty of space to unwind. We swam, sunbathed, and honestly didn’t want to leave. It’s one of those rare beaches that’s just as peaceful as it is postcard-worthy.

Between the panoramic views, the iconic beach, and those unforgettable daiquiris, this stop had everything you want in a Caribbean escape. It was relaxing, scenic, and fun, and struck the perfect vacation balance. St. Thomas is absolutely on my list of places to come back to, no question about it.

Tips for St. Thomas

• Don’t skip Mountain Top. Even if you’re not into daiquiris, the views alone are jaw-dropping.
• Bring cash. Local markets and some vendors don’t take cards, and cash is helpful for tips.
• At Magens Bay, rent a chair and snorkel gear early they can run out during peak times. There are bathrooms, changing rooms, and a snack bar onsite too.
• Don’t overpack beach stuff. Your stop is limited, so pack light and maximize your time enjoying the water.

This day was pure Caribbean bliss. If I could go back to one port for a full week, St. Thomas would be it, for the views, the beach, and yes, for one more banana daiquiri.

Caribbean Cruise Day 5: Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

Our next stop brought us to Puerto Plata, located on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic. This was one of the ports we were most excited about and while there were definitely some highlights, the experience overall was a bit of a mixed bag.

We joined the “Puerto Plata City & Cabarete Beach” excursion, and while it gave us a decent mix of beach and culture, the experience didn’t fully live up to our expectations.

The excursion kicked off with a 45-minute drive straight to Cabarete Beach, where we were greeted by golden sands, a warm breeze, and dozens of colorful kitesurfers dancing across the waves. The setting was gorgeous, laid-back and scenic, with plenty of room to stretch out and relax.

We were taken to a beachfront restaurant for lunch first, which we had high hopes for. Unfortunately, the meal was slow to arrive and underwhelming, and the time spent waiting could have been better spent enjoying the beach. Once we finally got out to the water, we made the most of it, our son had a blast splashing in the surf and building sandcastles, and we soaked in the views and watched the kite surfers put on an impromptu show.

After our beach time, we reboarded the bus and headed back to Puerto Plata for a short city tour. We visited the Fort of San Felipe, a striking remnant of the island’s colonial past, and learned a bit about the history and culture of the area. The tour wrapped up with a stop at a few touristy shops, which felt a bit forced and didn’t allow time for real browsing or independent exploration.

What Made This Caribbean Cruise Port a Must-Visit
The beach made the day. Cabarete is beautiful and laid-back, and the kite surfing scene gave it a unique and energetic feel. The tour gave us a solid intro to Puerto Plata’s history, even if the shopping and lunch were a bit of a letdown. For this port there are tons of tours and activities to choose from in Puerto Plata, think waterfall hikes, zip-lining adventures, beach breaks, city tours, or a relaxing day at a resort with a day pass, so you can pick what’s right for you.

Tips for Puerto Plata

• Cabarete Beach is worth the trip, especially if you enjoy people-watching or want a less crowded alternative to the main port beach.
• Bring small bills in USD or pesos for tipping your guide, buying drinks on the beach, or small souvenirs.
• Skip the shopping stops if you can. They felt very touristy, and we didn’t have any real opportunity to explore more authentic markets.

Would We Do This Excursion Again?
Probably not. While we loved Cabarete Beach and appreciated learning about the history of Puerto Plata, the structure of the excursion felt too rigid. If we returned, we’d look into hiring a private driver or booking a beach-only day to make the most of our time.

Caribbean Cruise Day 6: At Sea

Another sea day on this Caribbean cruise aboard the MSC Seashore, and by now, we were in full vacation mode. There’s something magical about waking up with nothing on the agenda but enjoying the ship and the sea, no ports, no rushing, just the open ocean and a ship full of ways to unwind.

We started the day with a slow morning, sipping coffee on our balcony while watching the horizon stretch endlessly in every direction.

For lunch, we hit the buffet, which consistently impressed us throughout the cruise with its variety and quality. The pizza deserves a special mention, it’s genuinely some of the best we’ve had at sea, with a perfectly crispy crust, fresh ingredients, and served hot from the oven. MSC is an Italian cruise line, and it definitely shows when it comes to the food, especially the pizza and coffee. The espresso and cappuccinos on board were rich, bold, and better than what we’ve had on many other ships. It’s a small detail, but one that makes a big difference.

In the afternoon, we made our way to the Jungle Pool, where we spent time lounging as a family, we appreciated the warm water and covered setting, it’s a great option when you want pool time without baking in the sun.

While our son headed back to the kids’ club for another round of games and fun, we treated ourselves to massages at the Aurea Spa. The experience was blissfully relaxing and well worth it after several days of exploring.

That night, we dined at The Butcher’s Cut, one of the ship’s specialty restaurants, where we enjoyed perfectly cooked steaks, truffle fries, and an indulgent dessert that felt like the cherry on top of a great day. While the meal was very good, we probably wouldn’t book it again, the added cost just didn’t feel entirely worth it. The food and service in the main dining room had already been excellent throughout the cruise, and for us, the overall experience wasn’t significantly better than what we were already enjoying as part of the standard cruise fare.

After dinner we took in the Broadway-style show “That’s Amore”, which brought energy, impressive vocals, and fun choreography to the theater. MSC’s entertainment exceeded my expectations, I genuinely enjoyed every show we saw throughout the cruise.

To end our evening, we enjoyed cocktails in the Brooklyn Café while listening to a fantastic Frank Sinatra tribute performed by a live jazz quartet. The performance was intimate, polished, and paired perfectly with the cozy, lounge-style vibe, an ideal way to wind down the day.

Caribbean Cruise Day 7: Ocean Cay, MSC Marine Reserve (Bahamas)

One of the true highlights of our cruise was our day at Ocean Cay, MSC Marine Reserve, MSC’s private island in the Bahamas. It’s exclusive to MSC Cruises, and you can tell: the island is beautifully maintained, quiet, and never feels overcrowded. Think soft white sand, turquoise water, and zero stress from start to finish.

We booked the snorkeling excursion, and it ended up being one of our favorite activities of the trip. The underwater visibility was excellent, and we were treated to colorful coral formations and schools of tropical fish gliding by.

After snorkeling, we headed straight to Bimini Beach, which quickly became our favorite spot on the island. • Snorkel early—the water tends to be clearest before midday, and it’s calmer in the morning.
• Head to Bimini Beach if you’re looking for the best swimming and softest sand.
• Bring reef-safe sunscreen to protect the marine life and your skin.
• Skip the shuttle if you’re able, it’s a short walk and helps you find quieter spots.
• Skip the Ocean Cay Lagoon it tends to be the most crowded area on the island, and the water there didn’t feel as clean or vibrant as the outer beaches with direct ocean access. For clearer water, softer sand, and fewer crowds, head farther out.

Caribbean Cruise Day 8: Miami, Florida (In-Transit Stop)

Returning to Miami mid-cruise might sound like a break in the adventure, but for us, it turned into a bonus day of exploration. Since we were doing a back-to-back sailing, we stayed on board between itineraries but opted to stretch our legs with an MSC-organized excursion to the Florida Everglades.

The highlight was the airboat ride, a fast, fun way to experience this incredible ecosystem. We skimmed across the glassy water, weaving through tall grass as our guide pointed out alligators, herons, and other native wildlife in their natural habitat. It was exciting, informative, and gave us a whole new appreciation for this unique region of South Florida.

After the airboat adventure, we continued with a scenic drive through Miami, where we got a taste of the city’s diverse neighborhoods, vibrant art scenes, and famous spots like South Beach and Little Havana. It was a relaxed way to see more of the city without having to navigate it ourselves, a perfect choice for an in-transit day.

Instead of spending the day just waiting to reboard, we turned it into an adventure. The Everglades were wild and beautiful, and the city tour gave us a great overview of Miami.

By Day 9, we had fully embraced the rhythm of sea days, slow mornings, full afternoons, and lively evenings. This day was packed with just the right mix of fun, relaxation, and cruise magic, and it turned out to be one of our most memorable.

We started the day by sleeping in (always a treat on a vacation), then headed up to the pool deck for some sun-soaked downtime. Our son loved the Pirates Cove Aquapark, especially the waterslides, fast, splashy fun that made him want to go again and again. We also tried out the Formula Racer and Cinema XD in the Hall of Games, both were unique onboard activities that added a fun, arcade-style vibe to the day.

For lunch, we treated ourselves to Holy Taco & Cantina, one of MSC’s specialty dining spots. The food was fresh and flavorful, think bold tacos, tangy guac, and frozen margaritas that hit just right on a sea day.

In the afternoon, we squeezed in a little onboard shopping, checked out some live music, and started getting ready for the evening, it was Gala Night, after all. We got dressed up and headed to the main dining room, which pulled out all the stops for a truly indulgent meal. We enjoyed lobster bisque, rack of lamb, surf and turf, baked Alaska, and the most decadent New York cheesecake, a perfect nod to classic cruise elegance.

After dinner, we caught the Paris show in the theater, a high-energy performance with vibrant costumes, dancing, and beautiful vocals that transported us straight to the cabarets of France. But the night didn’t end there…

We wrapped things up at the White Party on deck, dancing under the stars with fellow passengers. The energy was high, the music was fun, and it was the kind of night you remember long after the cruise is over.

This sea day had a bit of everything: relaxation, excitement, amazing food, and a night of dancing under the stars. It’s the kind of day that reminds you why cruising is so much more than just the destinations, it’s about the journey too.

Caribbean Cruise Day 10: Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Our next stop brought us to Ocho Rios, a lush and lively slice of Jamaica’s north coast. We booked the “Dolphin Swim & Dunn’s River Falls” excursion, and it ended up being one of the most action-packed and memorable experiences of the entire cruise.

The day started at Dolphin Cove, where we had the chance to swim and interact with dolphins in a beautiful, natural lagoon setting. After a brief educational session, we were split into small groups and entered the water for hands-on time with these incredibly intelligent and playful animals. We got to pet, kiss, and even be pulled through the water by the dolphins in what they call a “belly ride”, definitely one of those bucket list moments!

After drying off, we made our way to Dunn’s River Falls, one of the most well-known natural sites in Jamaica. This terraced, 180-foot waterfall is set in a lush jungle landscape and is a popular stop for cruise passengers and tourists alike. We were able to take our time and make our own way up, stepping carefully from rock to rock as the water rushed around us. It was a fun and refreshing experience, a mix of light climbing and splashing through the falls, though we definitely had to stay aware of our footing.

That said, be prepared, it’s very crowded. There were multiple tour groups all climbing at once, which made the experience feel a bit rushed and at times congested. While it didn’t ruin the adventure, it did make it feel a bit less serene and more like a group activity than a peaceful nature moment.

Tips for Ocho Rios

• Wear water shoes—they’re required for the falls and make the climb so much easier and safer.
• Bring a waterproof bag or dry pouch for your phone if you want photos, you’ll be completely soaked by the end.
• Bring cash for lockers, tips, and photos (which are sold at Dolphin Cove and Dunn’s River separately).

Would We Do It Again?
Yes, for the dolphins, absolutely. The falls were fun and exhilarating, but the crowds made it a bit less magical. Still, for a first-time visit to Jamaica, this combo excursion was a fantastic way to experience two major highlights in one day.

Caribbean Cruise Day 11: George Town, Cayman Islands

We didn’t book an excursion for our stop in George Town, Grand Cayman, and honestly, we didn’t need one. This port is incredibly easy to explore independently. From the moment we stepped off the boat, it was a breeze.

We grabbed a cab to Seven Mile Beach, one of the most famous beaches in the Caribbean and for good reason. The sand is powdery soft, the water is clear and warm, and the whole stretch is postcard perfect. Most taxis and excursions drop visitors at busy beach bars like Royal Palms, but that scene wasn’t really our vibe. So, we started walking.

And we kept walking.

Eventually, we found a quiet, uncrowded stretch of sand with just a handful of people around. It felt like our own little slice of paradise. We spent most of the day there, swimming, relaxing, and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. It was simple, sunny, and exactly what we needed.

Later in the afternoon, we took a taxi back into town and wandered through the local shops near the port. It’s a very walkable area with a mix of souvenir stands, jewelry stores, and a few small artisan markets. We sampled some famous Cayman rum cake and grabbed a snack before heading back to the ship.

Sometimes, the best days are the simplest. With no schedule and no crowds (once we left the main beach bar area), we got to enjoy Seven Mile Beach at our own pace and still had time to poke around town.

Tips for George Town

• Skip the organized excursions unless you want a specific experience like Stingray City, this port is ideal for DIY exploring.
• Ask your taxi driver to drop you farther down Seven Mile Beach away from the big beach bars if you’re looking for a quieter spot.

Our Caribbean cruise adventure continued in Cozumel, Mexico, and for this port, we chose an all-day excursion to Xcaret Eco Park a nature and culture park located on the mainland near Playa del Carmen. After a short ferry ride from Cozumel and a scenic bus transfer, we arrived at what can only be described as a tropical wonderland.

Xcaret is massive, lush, and beautifully designed to blend nature, culture, and adventure. It’s not your typical theme park, it’s more like a curated journey through Mexico’s natural beauty and rich history, with underground rivers, Mayan ruins, wildlife habitats, cultural exhibits, and beach coves all tucked into the jungle.

We started the day with one of the park’s signature attractions: floating down an underground river. We donned life jackets and gently drifted through the cool, crystal-clear water, winding through caves, tunnels, and jungle canopies. It was serene, refreshing, and such a unique way to begin the day.

Pro tip: Wear your swimsuit under your clothes and bring a waterproof phone case, you’ll want to snap some photos along the way (I didn’t and definitely regretted it)!

After the river, we dried off and made our way to one of the park’s many restaurants, where we had what may have been the best tacos of the entire trip, fresh tortillas, juicy grilled meats, and toppings that made each bite better than the last. Caribbean Cruise Day 13: At Sea

As we neared the end of our incredible Caribbean cruise, we welcomed one final day at sea, a peaceful pause before returning to port. By this point in the cruise, we’d already had a few sea days, but this one still felt special. It gave us the chance to slow down, soak up the atmosphere, and squeeze in a few last moments of fun, relaxation, and reflection.

We woke up early and took a quiet walk around the ship, enjoying the calm before most passengers were up and about. There’s something magical about watching the ocean in the morning light when the decks are still empty and peaceful. We followed it up with a dip in the hot tub before the rush.

Later in the day, we kept things easy but engaging: swimming in the pools, exploring parts of the ship we hadn’t yet seen, and attending a fun and interactive magic show with Nathan Phan, which had everyone laughing and amazed. The ship truly offers something for everyone, even this far into the voyage.

We also caught the tail end of the Snow Party on the Long Island Pool Deck, yes, snow! In the Caribbean! It was a light-hearted, festive moment that added a bit of whimsy to the afternoon.

On the way to dinner we caught the dueling pianos show, a lively performance featuring all the favorites, from 90s hits to early 2000s throwbacks. The energy was contagious, and it was one of those moments where you just wanted to stay and sing along a little longer.

Dinner that night in the main dining room was full of energy, with an Italian theme that had everyone smiling and toasting “Salute!” We indulged in a delicious spread: fried calamari, Sicilian-style arancini, caprese salad, seafood skewers, chicken parmigiana, tiramisu, and a wonderfully light limoncello cake. The dining team pulled out all the stops.

After dinner, we wandered back to the pool deck for Movie Under the Stars, where we watched Sing 2 while wrapped in towels and sipping drinks beneath the open sky. The sound of the ocean in the background and the fresh night air made it feel extra cozy and memorable.

Caribbean Cruise Day 14: Ocean Cay, MSC Marine Reserve (Bahamas)

We were absolutely thrilled to return to Ocean Cay, MSC Marine Reserve for a second visit and if anything, it was even better the second time around. By now we knew exactly where we wanted to go, so we headed straight to Bimini Beach, our favorite spot on the island. The water there is crystal-clear, calm, and impossibly blue, with soft white sand that makes it hard to believe it’s real.

We grabbed cold drinks from the nearby Beach Bar, kicked back in our loungers, and let the day unfold at a gloriously slow pace. Our son built sandcastles and splashed in the gentle surf, while we relaxed and soaked up every last minute of this private-island paradise.

For lunch, we kept it simple with burgers and fries from the closest food station. To be honest, the food on Ocean Cay is probably the biggest weak spot, it’s cafeteria-style and just okay. But the drinks were solid, and the ice cream was good, so we still left satisfied.

One of the highlights of the day was our lighthouse climb, something we had pre-booked and were excited to check off the list. It’s a short, easy climb, but the views from the top are stunning, and it was a fun little activity that gave us a new perspective on the island.

Mostly though, we just relaxed, swam, wandered the beach, and took in the natural beauty around us. The second visit allowed us to slow down even more and really appreciate what a unique and peaceful destination Ocean Cay is. I honestly still dream about this day.

When we got back on the ship, we capped off the day with a proper dinner in the main dining room, where our wonderful waitstaff, Putu and Felipe, truly pulled out all the stops. With our anniversary weekend approaching, they went above and beyond to celebrate us, making sure we had the best seats, incredible dinner and dessert options, and our favorite drinks to toast the evening.

I honestly grew to genuinely love Putu and Felipe. Their kindness, attention to detail, and warm energy made every meal feel personal, but that night especially, it felt like we were dining among friends. They were a huge part of what made this cruise feel so special, and I’ll always be grateful for that.

After dinner, we stopped by the farewell party, dancing and soaking in the energy of everyone enjoying one last night at sea. And we ended our day the same way we had many others with a quiet nightcap at the Brooklyn Café, our favorite little corner of the ship. It was the perfect end to a perfect day, full of gratitude, reflection, and all the reasons we already knew we’d miss this floating home.

Caribbean Cruise Day 15: Miami, Florida Disembarkation Day

And just like that our Caribbean cruise was over and it was time to say goodbye.

On the final morning of our Caribbean cruise, we woke up in Miami, docked and gently swaying in the port. Disembarkation day is always a little bittersweet, you’re still technically on vacation, but the clock is ticking. MSC handles the process smoothly, but it moves fast, so don’t expect a slow, relaxing start to your morning.

We had just enough time for a quick breakfast in the buffet before being called to disembark. The announcements come over the ship’s PA system based on your designated group and time slot, and once your group is called, it’s go-time. You need to be packed, out of your cabin, and ready with your carry-on essentials in hand.

We had pre-arranged a shuttle to the airport through the cruise line, which made things incredibly easy. As soon as we left the ship, we were guided to our bus, loaded up, and on our way to the airport with zero hassle.

And just like that, our two-week Caribbean cruise adventure came to an end.

Caribbean Cruise Aboard MSC Seashore: Dining & Entertainment Highlights

While the ports are definitely a highlight, life onboard the ship plays a huge role in shaping your Caribbean cruise experience. We sailed the MSC Seashore for two weeks, and by the end, we had explored almost every corner of the ship. Here’s what stood out, what surprised us, and what we’d recommend to anyone considering an MSC cruise for your next Caribbean cruise.

Dining: From Buffet to Specialty Restaurants

• Marketplace Buffet
  We were genuinely impressed by the buffet. There was a huge variety of options, from fresh fruit and pastries in the morning to rotating lunch and dinner selections that never felt repetitive. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and well-managed, honestly, we have nothing bad to say about it.
• Central Park Restaurant (Main Dining Room)
  This was our assigned dining room, and we had breakfast here occasionally and dinner here almost daily. Every meal was excellent, with attentive service and thoughtful menus. Our servers, Putu and Felipe, made us feel at home from day one and truly elevated our experience.
• Specialty Dining
  We tried every specialty restaurant except the sushi bar (Kaito Sushi). Here’s the breakdown:
  • Butcher’s Cut – The steak was very good, but it didn’t feel significantly better than the main dining room, especially for the extra cost.
  • Ocean Cay Restaurant – Nice setting, but the food was underwhelming.
  • Kaito Teppanyaki – A total standout. The dinner show was interactive, lively, and perfect for families, and the food was genuinely great.
  • Hola! Tacos & Cantina – We popped in for lunch one sea day and really enjoyed the tacos and fresh toppings. It was casual, fast, and tasty.

Verdict: While the specialty dining options were fun to try, they’re not essential, the included dining was consistently excellent.

Entertainment: Better Than Expected

MSC’s entertainment really surprised us, in a good way. We saw nearly every theater show on board, and each one was unique and high-quality:

• Gravity – Our favorite! Visually stunning with an acrobatic, space-themed performance that had us captivated from start to finish.
• Paris! – A colorful, high-energy cabaret-style show. Great vocals and choreography.
• Beautiful – A music-driven performance with elegant costuming and a romantic storyline.
• Butterflies – A more abstract, dance-heavy performance that was visually interesting.
• Mystic Forest – Darker, moodier, and packed with fantasy elements, very Cirque du Soleil-inspired.
• Coast to Coast – A musical tour across American music genres, fun and upbeat.
• That’s Amore – A cute and lighthearted Italian-themed musical.
• More Music & Magic with Nathan Phan – A total surprise hit! Nathan Phan is an incredibly talented magician and entertainer. His show was funny, surprising, and super engaging.

Spa & Wellness: Aurea Spa Escape

We had a spa membership during the cruise, and it was so worth it. It included access to:

• Private hot tubs in a quiet setting
• Thermal suites like saunas, steam rooms, and salt rooms
• Relaxation lounges for post-treatment bliss
• Plus, we both enjoyed excellent massages, professional, relaxing, and perfect after active port days.

Caribbean Cruise – MSC Adults only pool

Pools, Waterslides & Family Fun

• Pirates Cove Aquapark – A total hit with kids! Waterslides, splash areas, and lots of laughter.
• Infinity Pool (adults only) – The most peaceful spot by far. Great views, quiet vibe, and plenty of loungers.
• Jungle Pool – Small, covered, and cozy. Can get busy with families but still a nice option.
• Long Island Pool – The main pool, always lively with music, games, and activities. Also, home to the Long Island Bar, the busiest poolside bar onboard.

Kids Club & Activities

Our son loved the kids club, he made fast friends and enjoyed a great mix of games, crafts, and themed parties. MSC separates age groups well and offers flexible check-in/out times.

We also checked out the Hall of Games, which includes the:

• Formula Racer (a realistic F1-style driving experience)
• Cinema XD (a 4D interactive ride-style movie experience)

These were great sea day options and lots of fun.

Bars & Lounges

There’s a lounge or bar for every vibe:

• Brooklyn Café – Our absolute favorite. Live music, cozy atmosphere, great cocktails. We ended almost every night here.
• Le Cabaret Rouge – Elegant, more adult-oriented, with evening cabaret-style shows. We didn’t spend much time here but it’s a great date-night option.
• American Sports Bar – A solid spot to catch the game or grab a burger and a beer.
• Long Island Bar – Right by the main pool and always buzzing.
• Venchi 1878 Chocolate & Gelato Bar – This is an upcharge, but everything is incredible. The gelato, the pralines, the espresso, don’t miss it.
• Casino – While we’re not gamblers, we walked through a few times. It’s lively and well laid out, with all the standard games and slot machines.

Expectations vs. Reality

This was our first MSC cruise, so we weren’t sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised at nearly every turn. The ship was beautiful, the service was excellent, the food was better than expected, and the entertainment really held its own.

For the price we paid, this cruise was a win. It offered incredible value without sacrificing comfort, cleanliness, or experience. We’d absolutely cruise with MSC again, whether it’s another Caribbean cruise or a brand-new destination.

But if you’re looking for clean comfort, solid food, great entertainment, and beautiful ports of call, this cruise absolutely delivers.

We’d love to cruise with MSC again and honestly, we’d do this exact itinerary all over. It gave us time to really settle in, disconnect, and enjoy being at sea, while also exploring some of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean. And with friendly faces like Putu and Felipe making every dinner special, it’s hard not to want to come back.

This wasn’t just a vacation, it was a full experience, and we’d recommend it to anyone looking for a mix of fun, value, and tropical adventure.
